Your new role

As our new  Principal Cost Estimator, you will report to Rambøll Energy in Norway. You will support and lead a growing team of high performing specialists in providing high level support to Project Managers and discipline leads from tender and proposal stage through to monitoring and analysing costs at various stages of project delivery. As a senior member of our major projects group you will have a key role in supporting these projects, ensuring our position as a trusted partner to our clients.

Your key tasks and responsibilities

Working collaboratively with project managers and discipline leads to support them in meet budgeting goals and monitoring project costs. Maintaining good relationships through procurement with the external supply chain, ensuring favourable terms whilst adhering to quality and delivery requirements. Creating high level and detailed reports and presenting relevant information to key stakeholders. Monitoring and, where necessary, adjusting budgets during the project life cycle. Driving initiatives to explore cost saving opportunities to reducing expense. Evaluating project requirements to ensure accuracy in planning human and financial resources for projects Continuously update cost databases, guidelines and procedures Developing cost-efficient solutions to implement changes where necessary and reduce cost overruns. Contribute to the development of the cost estimation team Create common understanding between project leads and disciplines with regards to cost estimation.

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related subject. Significant and measurable experience with cost estimation in Energy Transition, ideally within renewable projects such as hydrogen, CCS, bio energy and wind. Candidates from closely related industries such as Offshore Oil & Gas will also be considered. Strong commercials skills in the areas of project finance and contractual matters.  Experience and interest in estimating software’s and database systems Good English and Norwegian skills – both verbal and written Residence in Norway, minimum work permit
