We are seeking a Head of Lifecycle Data Operations to lead a new Lifecycle Data Operation Center of Excellence (CoE) in the Parts and Field Service, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) business function. The new Center of Excellence will be responsible for continuously improving lifecycle data operations and governance and translating the Marine strategy into lifecycle data focus areas. The CoE will also act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and provide insights into the portfolio of lifecycle data products.

The role is offered as a permanent contract and the preferred location is a Wärtsilä office in Finland , but other Wärtsilä offices in Europe can also be considered. Following our hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely. In this role, you will be part of the PLM management team. You will report to the Director, Product Lifecycle Management and work closely with other senior leaders across the organization.

We are seeking a leader to define and implement the lifecycle data strategy, establish best practices, and drive continuous improvement. As an ideal candidate, you have a strong background in change management and the ability to navigate evolving business landscapes. Collaboration with key stakeholders is crucial for successful organizational transformations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities and accountabilities:

Define, maintain, and execute the lifecycle data strategy and roadmap for lifecycle data operations, aligning it with business goals and customer requirements. Establish and implement best practices and standards for data governance across the lifecycle data domain. Develop the end-to-end lifecycle data operational process, ensuring timely, quality and accurate data collection, processing, storage, and distribution to various stakeholders and systems. Drive the adoption and utilization of data analytics and data science tools and methods to generate insights and recommendations that enhance the customer experience and business outcomes throughout the lifecycle. Establish and develop a high-performing team of lifecycle data professionals, providing them with coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the lifecycle data CoE team, reaching across the organization. Accountable for development and optimization of data architecture that supports the lifecycle data domain, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance from a business perspective.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Extensive experience in leading and managing data teams, projects, and programs, preferably in a large and complex organization. Strong understanding of data architecture, data integration and data governance to drive change across the organization. Solid experience in leading and applying data management, data engineering, data analysis, or data science within lifecycle data domain or similar. Proven track record of delivering successful data projects and programs that drive business performance and customer satisfaction. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to align data initiatives and solutions with business goals and customer needs. High level of initiative, creativity, and innovation, with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities and solutions for data-driven value creation and improvement. Strong collaborative and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts and findings into simple and actionable insights and recommendations.
