Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Contract Price Governance Manager – Mediterranean & Northern Europe

The Contract Price and Governance team reports into the global pricing function and work very closely on a day-to-day basis with the global sales function to ensure the implementation of the pricing strategies and concepts of WSS. Doing so in a truly global industry and organization is no small task, and the role will call for ability to set clear agenda of contract negotiation, ability to coordinate top customers negotiations and follow-up completion, ability to apply a right balance of consistency and pragmatism, and talent for developing good working relationships with colleagues from different backgrounds/functions. This position will require you to embark the commercial teams in the transformation of the pricing process and support them to achieve success. To do so, you will bring solid negotiation tactics, and state to the art analysis and dashboard utilization.
What will you work on:
As Contract Price Governance Manager, you will take on a wide range of tasks, your main responsibilities will be:
Systematically drive the sales teams through the delivery of the pricing strategy, in a structured manner and according to the pricing implementation plan – using dashboards and analytics as required.
Coach the commercial team to successfully embed the pricing approach into their offers to customers to drive profitable growth.
Actively support the development of contract re/negotiation strategies with accurate analysis and pricing competence to ensure the pricing policy principles and policy are correctly applied.
Actively support contract re/negotiation to ensure the pricing policy is properly applied throughout the negotiations in collaboration with the sales teams.
Provide pricing input to Key Account plans for top customers.
Act as trusted advisor to the commercial teams on the new pricing policy.
Actively support the Customer Service functions to ensure that transactional elements of the pricing policy are adequately explained, defended and/or used towards the Customers.
Participate in the continuous improvement of the sales and bid process, collecting market and customer feedback through the sales and CS teams to adjust the pricing policy.
Support process alignment between pricing, sales, CS, legal, operations, supply chain, and finance departments through the regular sharing of best practices and proactively addressing of process non-conformities when identified.
Deliver regular and effective training to the sales and CS teams on any pricing policy adjustment and deliver onboarding training to new account managers.
What you need to be successful in the role:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, business administration, industrial economics or engineering, or have gained similar expertise through work experience can possibly compensate for lack of formal education
5 + years’ experience within commercial excellence, pricing, sales, or similar role
Computer literate particularly with good Microsoft Office skills and ideally proficiency within CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
Fluent English

Excellent communication and presentational skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a multinational environment.
Ability to work independently, systematically and meet deadlines through good time management and allocation of priorities.
Strong negotiation skills, with a background in a commercial role with the ability to implement and follow-up solid sales governance.
Ability to identify and analyse problems to develop solutions that are commercially justified.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
