Group Internal Audit & Investigation (GIA&I) provides independent and objective assurance and consulting activities by conducting risk- and value-based projects and managing Hydro's whistleblowing channel. Our purpose is to be a trusted advisor adding value to the organization and contributing to robust governance, risk management and internal controls through superior insight and professional services. We report functionally to the Board of Directors, through the Board Audit Committee, and administratively to the EVP Chief Financial Officer.

As an IT Internal Auditor, you will contribute to fulfill our mandate and purpose together with a team of 16 members with main office in Oslo, a unit in Brazil and presence in the US. You will assess maturity of governance, risk management and internal controls in processes and operations, identify control weaknesses, efficiency gains and root causes, and provide recommendations to support the organization to improve and being compliant.

The preferred candidates have broad experience within information and technology security, and deep knowledge of application security and Industrial Control Systems. You should have strong analytical and communication skills, and an ability to work efficiently in a cross-cultural environment.

Areas of responsibilities

As part of the internal audit team, you will:

  • Assist in developing and executing the risk-based audit plan
  • Lead and conduct high-quality IT audits
  • Develop methodology and digital tools
  • Take part in quality assurance of IT audits
  • Act as main point of contact for certain business areas and coordinate activities and information
  • Manage administrative responsibilities and contribute to internal improvement projects
  • Support with preparation of reporting and meetings with the Board of Directors, Board Audit Committee and Senior Management
  • Liaise with colleagues in Brazil and US to exchange experience and apply best practices.

Desired qualifications

To thrive and succeed as an IT internal auditor in Hydro, we believe you hold the following qualifications:

  • A master's or bachelor's degree, with a focus on Information Systems and Information Technology (ISIT).
  • Minimum five years of relevant experience in internal audit, with possible background in external audit, compliance, or IT operational roles.
  • Experience in conducting application security audits or audits of Industrial Control Systems.
  • Proficiency in internal audit methodologies, including planning, execution, reporting, and monitoring.
  • Good knowledge and experience with digital tools for advanced analytics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey information effectively across organizational levels and in multicultural settings.
  • Proficiency in English is essential, while basic proficiency in Norwegian and additional languages such as Portuguese, French, or Spanish are considered advantageous.
  • Preferably, experience working with multinational industrial companies.
