We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for lifting equipment, such as Offshore Pedestal Cranes, overhead cranes, and pull-in winches.

About The Position

This Principal Mechanical Engineer will serve as a package responsible engineer for lifting equipment in our major Oil & Gas, Offshore Wind, and Renewables projects. Package Responsible Engineer for the procurement of various Lifting and Material Handling Equipment packages include Offshore/Onshore Cranes, Overhead Cranes, Winches, and Off-loading systems for Offshore Wind, Oil & Gas, and Renewable Projects.

Responsibilities And Tasks Include
  1. Collaborate with the layout discipline to participate in material handling studies.
  2. Conduct design studies, technology qualification, selection, and assessments for lifting handling equipment.
  3. Prepare and distribute equipment specifications and datasheets; perform technical evaluations of supplier quotations.
  4. Act as the technical point of contact with suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines.
  5. Conduct inspections and testing at supplier workshops; ensure timely delivery of equipment and documentation.
  6. Oversee the installation and testing of equipment at the yard/offshore; evaluate and respond to technical queries.
  7. Review and approve supplier documentation; contribute to technical data registers.
  8. Ensure supplier compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Qualifications
  1. Higher education (BSc or MSc); long relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education.
  2. Minimum 10 years relevant working experience in design/delivery of lifting equipment.
  3. Experienced with multidisciplinary engineering in Crane Suppliers or EPC Contractors.
  4. Familiar with relevant local and international codes and standards such as NORSOK, EN, Norwegian acts, and regulations.
  5. Proficiency with 3D CAD software.

  1. Fluent in written and oral English; Norwegian is an advantage.
  2. Cooperative working attitude and acceptance for multicultural team environment.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Innovative, systematic, and proactive; committed to improving methods with digital tools and meeting deadlines with high quality.
