Payments & Accounts Receivable Accountant

As a Payments & AR accountant, you will play a key role in the accounts receivable process and be responsible for allocating incoming payments from customers, performing outgoing and manual payments, and ensuring accurate daily bank reconciliations. The Payments & AR accountant will also contribute to the continuous improvement and alignment of the Order to Cash (OTC) processes across all segments.
The Payments & AR accountant will report to the Process Owner Order to Cash & Purchase to Pay. This position is based in Oslo.
As a Payments & AR accountant, you will be responsible for:
Accounts Receivables
- Verify and allocate customer payments and transactions, ensuring the reconciliation of bank transactions and accounts.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in collaboration with other processes within Schibsted Marketplaces.
- Investigate customer discrepancies and manage past-due amounts in cooperation with the collections team.
Outgoing payments
- Daily validation & execution of manual payments
- Generate and process vendor payment files.
- Collaborate with PTP to ensure the accuracy and completeness of payments
General
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives and relevant projects
- Collaborate across OTC and PTP teams to achieve goals and maintain efficient operations.
- Handle customer inquiries (internal and external) and ensure that the team is up to date with customer handling and account reconciliation
- Training responsibility in system solutions and digital tools for employees and others (internal/external)
- Take ownership of your professional development in collaboration with the Team Lead.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field
- Experience with accounting or accounts receivable, including verifying and recording payments and transactions
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and drive efficiency within the Order to Cash area.
- Self-driven, collaborative, and approachable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English and Norwegian
