Safety Manager

As our Safety Manager, you will have a key role in improving HSE in Elkem and implementing our FORUS system throughout the company.

We are looking for a person that can:

  1. Ensure the HSE training plans are developed regarding role responsibility and HSE training content development.
  2. Ensure that robust risk management processes are implemented within the organisation.
  3. Implement Process Safety within the organisation.
  4. Ensure that a robust HSE Change Management process is implemented in the organisation.
  5. Ensure that HSE documents related to the FORUS system are written, communicated, and managed as per a robust document control system.
  6. Work to improve behaviour and culture through the implementation of good behaviour development practices.

The desired qualifications for the role should be:

  1. Background in HSE work.
  2. Chemical/Metallurgical/Mechanical/Electrical experience of at least 10 years.

We are looking for an individual with an independent and proactive approach to help improve HSE in Elkem. The ideal candidate should have the ability to influence, coach, and cooperate with people of multicultural backgrounds. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing our HSE system called FORUS as well as coordinating and controlling meetings. Additionally, you should have the ability to set up strategies and plans for improvement activities.

The successful applicant will need to be able to travel intermittently on a global basis. The work location is flexible but preferred in Kristiansand or Oslo.

The position reports to the Vice President of Health Safety Environment.
