An international trading company supplying the oil and gas industry is currently recruiting a Quality Engineer to work in their Stavanger office.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing support, advice, and managing Quality Control for the oil and gas clients.

Fluent Norwegian and the ability to travel will be required for this role.

TYPE: Permanent, full-time

WORKING HOURS: 08:30 - 16:00

SALARY: 650,000 - 840,000NOK depending on experience

LOCATION: Stavanger, Norway (hybrid working 3 days in the office)

Quality Engineer Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the Quality Control services in line with the Company and Customers' requirements
  • Oversee and maintain the regional Quality Control program in compliance with ISO 9001:2015, API Q1, 5CT, 5L, and any others as per Company's needs
  • Support SCM projects by providing internal consulting on manufacturing, quality control, technical inquiries and developing procedures
  • Manage the Quality Control (QC) requirements within Norway OCTG Dept
  • Support Norway OCTG Dept. to achieve the budget by driving improvements initiatives
  • Review technical documents related to local threading shops, tubular management companies, inspection companies, coating companies, etc.
  • Participate in inventory cycle counts ensuring Yard standards are maintained
  • Coordinate with suppliers on the development and review of concessions and deviations
  • Ensure adherence to QMS, recommend improvements, and share Alerts, Bulletins and Lessons Learned
  • Identify, document, and control business QC risks and opportunities
  • Provide support and advice in the investigation of Non-Conformances/Observations
  • Lead and support the local audit program
  • Evaluate/re-evaluate Suppliers and Subcontractors in line with Company requirements
  • Travel to various locations as required by the business (Florø and Tananger)
  • Prepare and participate in Quality Management reviews meetings and Monthly Quality Reports

Quality Engineer Ideal Candidate:

  • 3 years' experience working in the oil and gas industry
  • Proven experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing/inspection environment
  • Analytical work based on statistics
  • Successful experience in dealing with a large range of major clients (O&G majors) and understanding complex issues that may arise as a result of different country and cultural requirements
  • Experience in using MS Office, Excel, SharePoint, and/or other business software
  • Business level fluency in English and Norwegian
  • Technical proficiency in Line Pipe tubular standards (API 5L) and Line Pipe coating processes is a plus. Welding and testing knowledge/experience.
  • Full understanding of ISO 9001 and API Q1 and/or Q2, together with auditing experience in accordance with these standards
  • Experience within a multicultural business environment
