Sr. Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen as an Electrical Design Engineer – Frequency Drives, Switchboards, Battery Systems in our After Market Support team in Bergen. We are looking for Engineers with an electrical background to strengthen the department's focus within power electrics for our Energy & Power systems products. Hardware and Software. You will participate in upgrade and modification projects for our customers, from idea and sales phase, through planning and execution and all the way to documentation.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you design Drives and Battery Systems solutions to make our customers' vessels even better.

You will participate in taking ownership of how Kongsberg Maritime supports our customers within the complete lifetime cycle of our products. The position will involve some travelling, approx. 10-30 days/year.

Key responsibilities

• Design solutions for life cycle management (obsolescence, upgrades, and replacements)
• Cost calculations
• Interface setup
• Attend supplier and customer meetings, equipment testing, and Factory testing

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor or technical college degree in electro, system engineering or other relevant education
• Knowledge of either frequency converter, switchboards, power management systems, energy management systems, battery systems, or generators/motors
• Experience with Eplan drawing program is preferable
• Experience from service, production, or operational work within the maritime industry or similar is an advantage.
• Electrician Certificate of apprenticeship within the Energy product range (Gr.L/ ship electrician or automation) is an advantage
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
• "Installatør" papers, or willingness to take this education is preferable.
• We strongly recommend newly educated Engineers to apply for this position. Training will be given.
