Disney Digital Entertainment is seeking talented individuals passionate about pushing the boundaries of game engine and rendering technology. As a critical part of our team, you will leverage your expertise to build and optimize feature-rich engines, ensuring smooth and high-performance experiences for global audiences.
This role can be based remotely in Sweden, Denmark, Finland or Norway.
What You Will Do- Game Engine Expertise: Leverage proven experience in game engine or renderer development to design and implement feature-rich engines and systems.
- C++ Mastery: Write clean, maintainable, and enhanceable C++ code to develop robust game engine modules and functionality.
- Core Systems Evolution: Adapt and evolve core systems to elevate and improve Unreal Engine (UE) and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) development.
- Performance Optimization: Anticipate, identify, and solve complex performance issues, including profiling and optimizing for speed and memory.
- Concurrency Knowledge: Design and implement solutions for running tasks concurrently with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Documentation and Collaboration: Create clear documentation to support team usage and ensure effective communication across disciplines.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Experience and Curiosity: Hands-on experience or strong interest in the UEFN toolchain and modern rendering pipelines.
- Team-Oriented Mindset: A drive to support and collaborate with the entire team, ensuring alignment across disciplines.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional skills in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration, effectively sharing complex information.
- Strategic Problem-Solving: The ability to anticipate and address challenges resourcefully, implementing impactful and preventative solutions.
- Technical Insight: A deep understanding of software development principles, scalable platform design, and system architecture.
- Professional Experience: 5-8 years of progressively complex experience in software development, with expertise in game engines and systems.
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
