UTEC is looking to hire a Proposal Specialist on a full-time, permanent basis.

With increased volume of work through our Norwegian office for the Nordic and Baltic regions, we need to grow our team with a Proposal Specialist to support the Norway branch. The Proposal Specialist will provide a commercial support service to the Business Unit for potential, new, and existing projects and develop to manage the commercial cost base and/or bid estimating tool.

Duties & Main Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the delivery of assigned PQR's, RFI's, and tendering requirements executed by the Commercial/Business Unit team including coordinating inputs from all departments in the final submission and seeking management approvals, as necessary. Prepare cost estimates using the approved Bid Estimating Tool including sourcing external costs as required.
  • Prepare commercial and coordinate technical and contractual input into tender risk assessments, tender clarifications, tender qualifications, and tender approvals.
  • Prepare and deliver a comprehensive handover for won work to Projects and Operations, transferring knowledge and responsibility to Projects and Operations.
  • Provide ongoing general support to Projects and Operations concerning any tender stage queries/clarifications.
  • Assist in the continual improvement of standard cost estimating and collection methods, processes, and procedures that result in consistent tendering and 360-degree feedback from won contracts/projects.
  • Participate in any commercial initiatives/performance objectives that identify areas for performance improvement and any adjustments to organization, processes, and tools.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Commercial Department.
  • Act as an ambassador of UTEC's core values.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
  • Actively participate and lead by example in the Company's Quality and HSE Systems and Procedures.
  • Understand and comply with UTEC policies and procedures.

Required

  • Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or Law/Business Studies discipline.
  • Relevant previous experience in a similar environment.
  • Relevant Cost Estimating/Control experience is an advantage.
  • Cost Estimating/Control aptitude, with an understanding of the price, cost build, and work breakdown structures are an advantage.
  • Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others.
  • Ability to manage multiple and fast-track priorities, with assistance/direction.
  • Proactive and positive to changes and challenges.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint is essential.
  • Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to work both independently and within teams.
  • Must hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the Company routinely operates.
