We are currently searching for an experienced Category Manager – Materials to join us at our Forus office, Norway.
About the role:
We are looking for an experienced sourcing specialist to join our global team of category managers. You will use your considerable skills and experience to develop, lead, and execute our global category for materials. You will work closely with suppliers, business management, manufacturing, project management, and sourcing, focusing on delivering more sustainable materials to an optimal cost, quality, service level, and acceptable lead times within your category.

What you will be doing
- Continue to develop the Materials Category
- Maintain the operating model
- Develop strategy and implement accordingly
- Manage stakeholders
- Develop the material category fact-based – special focus on the sustainability roadmap
- Internal technical portfolio
- Internal demand
- Supplier Market development
- Participate and provide sourcing support to development projects.
- Supplier audits including performance follow-up and improvements
- Sourcing and qualification of new suppliers when required
- Provide support to our global Strategic Sourcing function pertaining to the ongoing sustainability roadmap including social responsibility.
Your Qualifications
You hold a relevant Bachelor/Master degree in a technical discipline or have relevant experience to compensate. Preferably, you also have a minimum of 5 years experience in Sourcing and Procurement. You are analytical, driven, and motivated to take on extensive responsibility and high workload. You should also have:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and in writing)
- Extensive cross-functional experience and wide organizational understanding
- Experience building relationships and strong stakeholder management.
- Ideally, you have relevant sourcing experience, and the ability to drive category plan and execution.
- A fast learner, willing to execute a broad range of tasks/implement improvements
- Proven performance that demonstrates high accountability, strong initiative, with a sense of urgency and an entrepreneurial approach
- Good collaboration skills - a true team player
