Job Description:

Halliburton is one of the world's leading providers of products and services to the energy industry. Founded in 1919, we are 40,000 employees in 70 countries. We create innovative technologies, products, and services that help our customers maximize their value throughout the life cycle of an asset and advance a sustainable energy future.

Presentation/teaser to the position:

Halliburton, a pioneer in Formation Evaluation and Geosteering, has been instrumental in participating in the development of the hydrocarbon resources of the Norwegian continental shelf since the first test well in 1966.

To strengthen our Geosteering organization, we are seeking an experienced Geosteering Geologist. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Geosteering, log analysis, Measurement While Drilling (MWD) and Logging While Drilling (LWD). Experience in well placement using Deep and Ultra Deep resistivity tools is essential. This role involves leading Geosteering projects for upcoming operations.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who excels in communication and can effectively facilitate technical dialogue both internally and externally. If you are ready to take on this challenge, we would love to hear from you.

The Geosteering Project Lead position includes the following key responsibilities:

  • Lead current Geosteering projects in delivering customized solutions for various subsurface challenges faced by different customers.
  • Generate pre-well feasibility studies for all UDAR services.
  • Monitor Deep and Ultra Deep resistivity operations and provide analysis of conditions encountered in real time to optimize well placement.
  • Perform complete post-mortem studies integrating all Geological branches with tool responses.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to develop, improve, and implement new technologies.
  • Foster team development through training, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Develop new and innovative analysis methods and workflows within the discipline.
  • Contribute to the Halliburton value creation targets by writing and presenting technical publications.

In summary, this position aims to enhance customer relationships and technical collaborations by working on complex subsurface challenges, spanning from reservoir engineering to Geosteering. A key requirement is a demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between technological solutions and cross-domain integration to address these complex subsurface problems effectively.

A significant breadth of knowledge is required to be successful in this position where the ability to work effectively as a team and integrate a wide variety of data sources to solve complex problems is a prerequisite.

We are looking for the right people — people who want to innovate, achieve, grow, and lead. We attract and retain the best talent by investing in our employees and empowering them to develop themselves and their careers.

Our values are the foundation for everything we do. If you can identify with our values: Safety, Trust, Collaboration, Integrity, and Respect, you can be the one we are looking for.

We offer:
Great career and development opportunities
Highly skilled colleagues in a diverse environment
Company health insurance
Competitive pension and insurance scheme
Beneficial employee stock-purchase plan
Social club with several arrangements throughout the year
Free parking and company bus arrangements

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' experience in Geosteering.
  • MWD & LWD or drilling operations experience is an advantage.
  • Preferably a Master (MSc) or Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Geology or Geophysics.
  • Experience in using Deep and Ultra Deep Azimuthal resistivity tools.
  • Experience using and interpreting LWD conventional tools responses.
  • Experience with 3D Resistivity inversion.
  • Experienced with geoscience and Geosteering software such as RoxC, StrataSteer, and Decision space.
  • 3+ years in a customer-facing job role and has demonstrated the ability to identify opportunities to deliver Halliburton's value proposition.

We seek candidates with a strong focus on teamwork to reach our common goals.

The candidate must be able to work in a structured manner and handle a complex and sometimes hectic everyday life.

Due to occasionally tight deadlines, it is important that you are flexible and willing to adapt to deadlines and everyday challenges.

We are looking for candidates who are accurate, flexible, and able to familiarize themselves with technical issues.

You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills.

You have the ability to communicate effectively and engage with colleagues and customers.

You will need to work in a structured manner, and the position requires that you champion the Company's HSE and SQ goals.

Language:

The candidate should have good communication and collaboration skills.

Fluent in English, both written and verbal, and preferably a Scandinavian language.
