Drilling Operations are expanding the team and looking for a Discipline Responsible for Drilling Equipment & Systems. The Discipline Responsible serves as the technical authority within Drilling Operations, overseeing the development and implementation of philosophies and procedures in compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include audits, technical assessments of offshore units, and response to critical events. Additionally, the role ensures competence verification within the offshore organization and has the authority to order immediate corrective actions in coordination with unit management. The position can be based in Stavanger or Bergen and reports to Technical Manager Jack-ups.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

  • Higher technical education (MSc, BSc or equivalent). Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education.
  • Relevant technical background within offshore drilling and operations is of advantage.
  • Experience in technical support, maintenance planning, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to optimize processes, improve performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Duties/Tasks

  • Serve as the technical authority within the discipline, ensuring alignment with Odfjell Technology's philosophy and fleet-wide solutions.
  • Provide daily technical support, troubleshooting, and input on maintenance, modifications, and operational challenges.
  • Advise on rig non-conformities, deviations, and technical issues impacting equipment performance and uptime.
  • Ensure operations align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and design specifications.
  • Develop and optimize operational philosophies, procedures, and instructions within the discipline.
  • Support recruitment, competence development, and qualification requirements for offshore personnel.
  • Assist units in meeting customer requirements and drive fleet-wide synergies and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical input for supply chain framework agreements within the discipline.
  • Conduct audits, verifications, and coaching sessions onshore and offshore to improve operational and technical performance.
  • Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and recommend preventive actions.
