SENIOR ADVISOR, EXPORT PROMOTION, OSLO, NORWAY

We are looking for a new team member to join our team, someone who can adeptly assist Finnish enterprises in identifying business partners within Norway, as well as provide expert advice on market strategies and business etiquette.

The ideal candidate will possess profound knowledge and established networks in at least one of the following sectors: Software, data management, AI, telecommunications and networks or cyber security solutions, digital health.

However, companies from all sectors contact us, and we help them forward in their market growth journey.

You will be based in our Oslo office and report to our Region Head for Scandinavia, Mr. Antti Rahikka. The position is permanent. The Senior Advisor will be employed in accordance with the regulations applicable to local staff in full compliance with labor laws in Norway.

Your principal responsibility lies in championing and enabling the success of Finnish companies in the Norwegian market.

Your tasks will include:

  • Following the market in your sectors and identify business opportunities for Finnish companies
  • Keeping up to date on the latest technology trends in sustainability and digitalization
  • Working with a portfolio of innovative companies
  • Facilitating the pursuit of new business opportunities for Finnish companies within the Norwegian market
  • Working with Norwegian companies as they scout for innovative solutions and introduce the Finnish offering
  • Building meaningful and functional connections between Finnish and Norwegian companies
  • Building impactful business delegation programs for groups of companies

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We seek someone with knowledge and networks in Norway's ICT sector in subsectors such as Software, data management, AI, telecommunications and networks, digital health and/or cyber security solutions.

In addition, we expect you to have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in business or engineering, or other relevant field
  • Experience and proven track record in business development, product management and/or sales
  • Knowledge of the Norwegian business environment
  • Strong existing networks in the defined sectors and the ability to build new networks
  • Good verbal & written communication skills in Norwegian and English, Finnish language skills are an asset
  • Background in collaborating with multinational companies
  • A proactive can-do attitude and ability to get things done

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a local employment contract. The role is based in our Oslo office and reports to our Region Head for Scandinavia, Central & East Europe Mr. Antti Rahikka.

In line with the Finnish government's reform, Business Finland's foreign functions will be directly integrated into the structures of the Finnish Foreign Service as of 1 January 2026. Your employment will start with Business Finland in 2025 and, following the reform, it will be transferred to the Embassy of Finland in Norway in 2026.
