Oslo, Oslo County, Norway AutoStore System, Inc Full time

AutoStore is a global technology company, with more than 600 installations in 37 countries over a wide range of industries. The company's headquarters is in Nedre Vats, Norway, with offices in France, Germany, Japan, Poland, UK, South Korea, and the US.

We are now looking for a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in building infrastructure for scalable multi-tier cloud-based applications to join us.

The role reports to the MFC (Micro-fulfillment Center) Business Unit in AutoStore.

The MFC Business Unit was established when AutoStore acquired Locai Solutions in February 2021. The Locai team remains a sub-organization within AutoStore and continues to build the next generation SaaS platform for grocery retailers. We help grocers embrace state-of-the-art technology to create first-class online experiences for their customers and increase efficiency within their warehouse operation. As part of this, we provide our clients with a full set of applications ranging from e-Commerce websites, mobile/tablet apps, customer and order management systems, meal/recipe planning tools, and warehouse picking solutions. In this last category, we are creating a unique solution combining cloud applications with the AutoStore robotic grid. Our team offers a great mix of craftsmanship (i.e., solving problems in rigorous ways) and creativity (i.e., exploring interesting problems with R&D, prototypes, etc.). In the former category, we have invested in good tools, we aim to release features frequently, and we take the time to ensure our products are well tested and well documented. In the latter category, we nurture a learning environment through Lunch n' Learns, leverage a version of Google's 20% time for free-form creative exploration, and encourage exploration and collaboration to achieve our goals.

Your skill set should encompass structure, planning and setting direction, in combination with creativity, problem-solving, and great communication skills. You should love to be hands-on with your deliverables and be intrigued by a Lean, Bold, and Transparent organization that values its employees as its most important assets.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with a team to build and maintain scalable infrastructure to run our Docker-based services.
  • Provide strategies to improve our infrastructure, configuration management, and deployments.
  • Maintain and design secure networking practices connecting cloud and on-premise networks.
  • Manage the hybrid Azure and AWS cloud environment.
  • Ability to set up a disaster recovery strategy and identify needs for backups, extra resilience, or failover within our infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with deployment pipelines, CI/CD, and tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and CircleCI.
  • Experience setting up operational processes to support application deployments, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Scripting experience in languages to automate tasks.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Higher education BSc/MSc within technology.
  • Minimum five years of work experience within DevOps.
  • Experience with the development of technology products.

  • Strong experience with Azure.
  • Experience with Terraform for managing infrastructure.
  • Experience with setting up API gateways.
  • PMI certification.
  • Experience working in a team across multiple time zones.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

  • Great business acumen and a strategic mindset.
  • Result-oriented.
  • Strong communicator and motivator.
  • Influential and impactful.
  • Team player.

AUTOSTORE OFFERS:

  • A creative, safe, and fun workplace in a growing business.
  • Opportunities for further development in your field.
