Purpose and Scope
As a Software Engineering Manager at TGS Prediktor, you play a pivotal role in driving organizational excellence and high-performing engineering teams. Your mission is to continuously improve software delivery processes, fostering a goal-oriented, learning culture that emphasizes modular system architecture and engineering practices enabling continuous delivery. By prioritizing effective leadership and lean management principles, you contribute to happier teams, thriving individuals, and the delivery of superior software at an accelerated pace.
Key Responsibilities
Your initiatives as a Software Engineering Manager focus on achieving:
- Implementation and enhancement of continuous delivery practices.
- Development and optimization of modular architecture designs.
- Advancement of lean product development processes and agile workflows.
- Promotion of lean management practices to foster transparency and autonomy.
- Cultivation of a culture of organizational excellence through research-driven methods.
Key Competencies
To thrive in this role, the following qualifications and skills are essential:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: Extensive background in software development using Python, C, C++, C#, and/or JavaScript (desirable 8+ years experience). Demonstrated expertise in technical leadership, overseeing complex projects, and leading teams (desirable 2+ years experience).
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and virtualization/containerization.
- Proven ability to build and operate large-scale production systems with emphasis on performance, availability, reliability, and scalability.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and/or Azure; experience with APIs, services, and infrastructure development is advantageous.
- Passion: Dedication to fostering high-performing engineering teams, driving continuous improvement, and scaling deployments efficiently.
Location: Fredrikstad or Oslo.
