Would you like to shape the future of data-driven decision-making at a leading investment bank?

ABG Sundal Collier (ABGSC) are looking for a skilled and ambitious Data Engineer to help develop and strengthen our data-driven decision support. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated and technically strong candidate who sees data analysis as more than just reporting, someone who understands the bigger picture and has the ability to connect and present information in a user-friendly format. You take ownership, drive results, and see yourself as an architect, designer, and creative problem-solver.

Why ABGSC?

ABGSC is a leading Nordic investment bank with a global presence and strong financial performance. We value speed, clear decision-making, and offer direct access to top management. At ABGSC, you will become part of a highly competent team, while also enjoying a great deal of independence and ownership in your role.

We have a solid foundation in Power BI and data warehousing, and we are heavily investing in technology, AI, and modern data usage as part of our long-term strategy. The position plays a key role in this initiative and offers significant opportunities to influence how we work with data across the organization.

In our modern offices at Via Vika – arguably one of Norway's most beautiful office buildings – we offer competitive compensation, excellent pension and insurance schemes, and a work environment characterized by engagement, collaboration, and development.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports for strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with the Data Warehouse team to retrieve and transform data
  • Identify and solve reporting and BI challenges across the business
  • Participate in and lead data and BI-related projects
  • Drive the adoption of data-driven workflows across departments
  • Contribute to the development of our data warehouse and infrastructure
Requirements
  • 5+ years in data engineering, BI, or analytics roles
  • Strong Power BI experience (data modelling, DAX, dashboard design)
  • Ability to participate in and lead projects
  • Contribute to the development of our data warehouse, data infrastructure and AI projects
  • Solid SQL skills
  • Understanding of ETL concepts and working with large datasets
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Platform (e.g. Data Factory)
  • Ability to identify and translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Proven ability to work autonomously in a senior/lead capacity
Additional skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS, Engineering, Math, etc.) preferred – not required if experience is strong
  • Experience with financial or investment banking data
  • Python for data wrangling and automation
  • Familiarity with Databricks, dbt or other modern data stack tools
  • git version control experience
  • Understanding data governance and quality
  • Comfort working directly with senior stakeholders
Personal Attributes
  • Analytical and structured
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with senior stakeholders
  • Solution-oriented and proactive
What We Offer

At ABGSC we do not believe in hierarchy, titles or standardised career ladders. Instead, we value teamwork, inclusion, equality and respect.

You should consider working with ABGSC if you are looking for:

  • an opportunity to take responsibility and work with a high degree of autonomy
  • an arena for personal development and for expressing your creativity and ability to innovate
  • an employer who embraces new technology and have a high focus on data driven decision making
  • short decision-making processes with direct access to senior decision makers
  • a positive and dynamic working environment with dedicated and highly competent colleagues
  • becoming a valued member one of the most respected investment banks in the Nordics
