The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet is seeking a highly skilled Musical Director to lead the Norwegian National Opera Chorus.

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for an experienced conductor to take on full artistic responsibility for the chorus. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest professional standards, providing a positive working environment, and supporting the professional development and welfare of chorus members.

1. Artistic Development: Lead the artistic development of the chorus in line with the Artistic Director of Opera's vision and strategy.
2. Conducting and Rehearsing: Prepare and rehearse the chorus for performances and tours.
3. Collaboration: Engage in artistic and administrative dialogue with conductors and directors on individual productions.
4. Tour Management: Take charge of artistic responsibility for chorus concerts and tours.

• A broad knowledge of the opera repertoire and significant relevant experience.
• A high level of proficiency in both piano accompaniment and conducting.
• Good language skills - preferably German and/or Italian in addition to English.
• Experience of (artistic) trade union relations and consultation with union representatives.
• Strong team leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a large workload effectively.
