About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented musician to take on a leadership role within the Norwegian National Opera Chorus. As Chorus Master, you will be responsible for leading the chorus to deliver high-quality performances and contributing to the artistic direction of the company.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Developing the artistic vision and strategy for the chorus.
  2. Maintaining the highest professional standards and promoting a positive working environment.
  3. Preparing and rehearsing the chorus for performances.
  4. Working collaboratively with conductors and directors on individual productions.
  5. Leading chorus concerts and tours.
  6. Providing advice and guidance to the Artistic Director of Opera.
  7. Planning the chorus' musical rehearsals and season schedule.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  1. Significant experience in the field of opera and music.
  2. High-level proficiency in piano accompaniment and conducting.
  3. Strong language skills, including German and/or Italian.
  4. Experience of trade union relations and communication with union representatives.
  5. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  6. Ability to manage a large workload effectively.
  7. Strong administrative skills.
