About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Centre Technician to join our team at ATC Computer Transport & Logistics. As a critical member of our installation and upkeep team, you will be responsible for guaranteeing seamless operations of hardware networks.

The successful candidate will assume a crucial role in installing and maintaining cabling infrastructure to ensure efficient network operations, including equipment and server/network rack decommissioning. This position offers advancement opportunities toward supervisory or team leadership roles, with comprehensive training and mentorship provided.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to expansive projects and engage in travel for on-site support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend clients' sites on time, equipped with all required tools, uniform, procedures, and documentation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
  • Familiarize yourself with common networking terms, cabling infrastructure best practices, and methodologies.
  • Experience working with medium to large, complex project scopes and ambiguous details within the work environment.
  • Utilize common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR, and power meters.
  • Understand infrastructure technologies, including routers, switches, and other network gear.
  • Cable server racks by patching and dressing fibre and copper cables (training will be provided).
  • Provide industry-leading customer service levels by acting professionally with clients and colleagues at all times.
  • Follow clients' procedures and requirements, including health and safety, and security.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, including managers, planners, team leaders, and supervisors.
  • Complete daily checklists and provide reports on daily activities or tasks, including general administration tasks.
