Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), understanding their needs and preferences to drive business growth.
  • Drive strategic cross-functional projects and initiatives, focusing on innovation and the development of cutting-edge products that meet market demands.
  • Lead and mentor a team of scientists, aligning their work with departmental plans and business priorities to achieve organizational goals.
  • Implement efficient working processes, removing barriers to execution and exploring new technologies to enhance product development and laboratory research.
  • Prioritize and plan projects, considering timelines, technology requirements, potential risks, and financial implications to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Travel is expected, with approximately 20% travel over a year, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements
  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in product development and/or laboratory research in an industrial setting or equivalent (Biotech/Life Science industry).
  • Strong background in molecular applications and diagnostic testing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in team management or performance evaluation roles with a focus on people management, goal setting, and building successful teams.
  • Hands-on experience in nucleic acid purification and applications (extraction, purification, amplification, qPCR, NGS).
  • Experience with statistical analysis and/or Design of Experiments methodologies.
  • Ability to understand customer needs, current and future metrology requirements, and recommend new metrology opportunities to Thermo Fisher Scientific.
