Telecommunications Strategist

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Strategist to join our team at Telenor ASA. As a key member of our technology unit, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our telecommunications networks.

In this exciting position, you will be responsible for defining strategic directions and participating in creating Open Network architecture principles. You will also engage in detailing execution plans applicable for Telenor Business Areas. Your expertise in telecom network architecture across domains (radio, transport, fixed, core) combined with strong IT systems knowledge, particularly in OSS (Operations Support Systems), will be invaluable assets in this role.

You will work closely with different Telenor Business Areas as well as partners and industry arenas to coordinate and align Open network strategy and architecture status and plans with relevant stakeholders and functional teams within Telenor. Additionally, you will define the strategy for Open Network, Open API, and IT systems integration and elaborate ways of implementing in practice.

1. Define strategic directions and participate in creating Open Network architecture principles.
2. Engage in detailing execution plans applicable for Telenor Business Areas.
3. Coordinate across Business Areas and align Open network strategy and architecture status and plans with relevant stakeholders and functional teams within Telenor.
4. Define the strategy for Open Network, Open API, and IT systems integration and elaborate ways of implementing in practice.

• Expertise in telecom network architecture across domains (radio, transport, fixed, core).
• Strong IT systems knowledge, particularly in OSS (Operations Support Systems).
• Experience in modernizing traditional telecom infrastructure towards cloud-native and API-driven architectures, with understanding of open network principles.
• Familiarity with network automation and orchestration.
• Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders.
