Your Future Role:
The Mission Control team at Instabee is responsible for live monitoring of operational quality and incidents, ensuring our users have a smooth and flawless experience. We significantly influence company KPIs, such as accuracy, delivery success, and cost, while seeing our product in action in real life, interacting with physical operations and real people.
Our team consists of an Engineering Manager, three developers, a Product Manager, and a Principal Engineer. We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join our collaborative team, where we value each other's knowledge and experience, making important decisions that drive our work forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and run backend services.
- Design software data structures mapping complex real-world logistics scenarios to simple and straightforward solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical and architectural decision-making.
- Experience with major cloud providers (e.g. AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, Terraform.
- Work closely with the product team to understand user needs.
- Be part of a modern product team, motivated by serving users and giving solutions to their needs and problems.
Our Tech Stack:
We use Kotlin/Java, Go, PostgreSQL, and Google Pub/Sub with Protobuf. Our microservices architecture aligns with our specific challenges and organizational structure. Our technology choices are deliberate, driven by careful consideration of trade-offs and suitability for our needs.

We have two senior Backend Engineers who will be involved in coaching and mentoring to help you get up to speed quickly. We imagine you have some of the following points on your resume:
- 2+ years experience in a Backend Engineer role in a modern tech environment.
- Experience with Java, Kotlin, or Go.
- Experience with any RDBMS.
- Experience with major cloud providers (e.g. AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, Terraform.
- BSc Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
