Job Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished Content Acquisition Specialist to join our European Programming and Acquisitions team. This role will be responsible for identifying and acquiring high-quality content for our streaming service Max in Europe, with a focus on the Nordics.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with colleagues across different locations to secure valuable content deals and maintain a strong presence in the Nordic rights market. Your expertise will help shape our content strategy and ensure we deliver engaging experiences for our audiences.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Acquire new and existing content for Max in Europe, prioritizing Nordics.
  2. Conduct market research to identify potential content opportunities.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with rights owners and industry professionals.
  4. Negotiate deals for scripted series and movies, focusing on local content.
  5. Prepare and distribute internal documentation for content proposals, deal memos, and contracts.
  6. Stay informed about market trends, competitors, and the international content rights market.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in content acquisition, preferably within the Nordic media/broadcast/TV industry.
  • Familiarity with the Nordic rights markets, broadcasters, and media landscape.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, plus one or more Nordic languages.
  • A team player with a collaborative approach and alignment with WBD's values.
