Academic Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Language Arts Teacher to join our team at A+ World Academy.

The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching high school English and be able to adapt to our unique maritime setting. Our students benefit from a rigorous, experiential education program that fosters global citizenship and leadership skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing individualized support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach high school English language arts courses, including AP Lit and pre-AP ELA.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with our 'My Five to Global Leadership' structure.
• Assess student progress and provide individualized support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and instructional materials.

Requirements:

• Teaching Credential/License.
• Personal Essay: Submit a statement reflecting your understanding of 'My Five to Global Leadership' and how you would apply it in your teaching practice.
• Resume/Curriculum Vitae listing previous teaching positions or educational training.
• Two letters of recommendation from employers within the last 5 years.
• Recent Police background check.
