The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at NMBU is seeking a talented and ambitious researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be working on a 3-year PhD project focused on developing a novel mRNA-based immunotherapy for canine lymphoma, with potential applications in human medicine.

The PhD position is part of a large-scale collaboration between several institutions, including the Oslo University Hospital, the Radium Hospital, the University of Bergen, Haukeland, and NMBU. The candidate will be based at NMBU, with some work taking place at UiB and OUS.

The project involves laboratory work using advanced cellular and molecular biological methods, as well as in vivo experiments with animal research models. The candidate will be supervised by a team of experienced scientists and will have the opportunity to collaborate with other researchers in the field.

The applicant must meet the conditions defined for admission to a PhD programme at NMBU. The applicant must have an academically relevant education corresponding to a five-year master's degree or a cand.med.vet. degree, with a learning outcome corresponding to the descriptions in the Norwegian Qualification Framework, second cycle. The applicant must have a documented strong academic background relevant to the position and be able to document proficiency in both written and oral English.

The following experiences and skills will be emphasized:

  • Experience with relevant laboratory methods (such as PCR, transcript analyses, flow cytometry, cell culture, Western blotting, ELISA).
  • Experience with handling laboratory animals or have completed a relevant experimental animal course (CAREiN or FELASA functions A, C and D).
  • Experience with veterinary and/or immunology and/or oncology research.
  • Previous publishing and presentation experience.
  • Academic networking experience.
