Job Summary
As a Datacenter Technician at Microsoft, you will play a critical role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for our online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. You will be responsible for staging, setting up, and performing hardware deployments, as well as troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures to quickly identify and resolve issues.
- Set up and verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
- Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures.
- Communicate and report incidents to appropriate management units and engineering specialists.
- Assist and provide guidance to other technicians to complete challenging tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
- Proven experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Ability to work shifts, including non-standard business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
