About the Job

This position is for a Software Engineer-2 in one of our application teams in Norway, focusing on developing and maintaining payment solutions for European customers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of software delivery tasks including code development, testing, and deployment at the application or software component level.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to align on objectives through team prioritization discussions.
  • Troubleshooting and refactoring existing code to improve functionality and performance.
  • Awareness and adoption of new languages and architectural patterns as required by the work.
  • Influence on team decisions and provision of guidance to peers and less experienced members.
  • Participation in learning and sharing software practices through community initiatives, and assistance in technical documentation of APIs and services delivered.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with business and technical writing.
  • Ability to write secure code in three or more programming languages (Java, JavaScript, and SQL).
  • Familiarity with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP).
  • Understanding and implementation of standard branching (e.g., Gitflow) and peer review practices.
  • Use of tools (e.g., Sonar, Checkmarx) and techniques to scan and measure code quality and anti-patterns as part of development activity.
  • Ability to build test code at unit level, service level, and integration level to ensure code and functional coverage.
  • Familiarity with design patterns (e.g., factory, adaptor, singleton, composite, observer, strategy, inversion of control).
  • Understanding of requirement analysis as an essential part of delivering value to customers and partners.
  • Understanding of different SDLC practices (Waterfall/Scrum/Kanban) and their use cases.
  • Familiarity with engineering principles used in building and running mission-critical software capabilities.
  • Familiarity with different application patterns to implement various types of business processes.
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts.
  • Ability to write code primarily in Java, Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl, Groovy for automation tasks.
  • Understanding of functional and non-functional testing types.
