Expert Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Expert Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team at Barco Immersive Experiences (IX). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical and opto-mechanical solutions for our high-performance products.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the full product development process, from idea to finished product.
- Design and develop light metal alloy and plastic injection molded parts, opto-mechanical solutions, structural and aesthetic designs, sheet metal, machined parts, and more.
- Review your designs with our multidisciplinary team.
- Create detailed manufacturing documentation of your designs and parts.
- Build prototypes and early development products to test and verify your design.
- Support the introduction of your designs in our production facilities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Industry experience (5+ years) working with product development and/or R&D projects.
- Great skills in 3D CAD and supporting programs, with experience in Creo preferred.
- Detailed understanding of manufacturing processes for various types of mechanical parts.
- Experience with optomechanical, thermal, and/or industrial design is a plus.
- Drive for development and innovation through a solution-oriented, high-quality mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with good written and oral skills in Norwegian and English.
