Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Maritime Consultant to join our team in Stavanger, Norway. As a Principal Maritime Consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support for marine warranties and consultancy needs, collaborating with our team of maritime experts globally.

Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Manage ABL Maritime Services, delivering key surveys for the Maritime and Marine Insurance markets.\
  • Support Marine Warranty (loadouts, transportation / towage approvals) and consultancy needs for ABL Energy in EWA.\
  • Familiarize yourself with ABL business lines and key deliverables.\
  • Plan marketing ABL services to Scandinavian H&M and P&I Underwriters and Brokers.\
  • Cross-sell ABL service lines to other maritime sectors like Shipyards, Ports & Harbours.\
  • Provide monthly planning & activity reports on project developments.\
  • Maintain own level of billable utilization to an appropriate level.\
  • Retail and develop existing and potential client base with ABL.\
  • Develop business strategy, its marketing and implementation.\
  • Develop budgets, pricing and quotations for business line.\
  • General technical management and development.\
  • Quality assurance and report reviews.\
  • Case handling and maintaining customer satisfaction.\
  • Other duties as assigned.\
  • The role requires flexibility and willingness to travel as well as readiness for onshore/offshore assignments at short notice locally and globally for periods.\
  • Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team.\
  • Proactive, well-organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.\
  • Sailing experience as Master Mariner or Chief Engineer.\
  • Decision-making, technical, and analytical skills with a focus on operations.\
  • Accurate reporting and ability to deliver high-quality work on time.\
  • Communication, leadership, and multitasking skills.\
  • Proactive, well-organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.\
  • Desired skills: High-level reputation in the market, previous experience in Maritime Consultancy or associated field.\
  • Client base and ongoing book of work.\
  • Experience sailing as Master or Chief Engineer.\
  • Previous experience in salvage, harbour master, etc.\
