Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our Finance team based at our head office in Oslo. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of financial support to the department, including budgeting, reporting, cash flow, internal control, and ensuring compliance with NRC policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities
  • Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures
  • Provide financial advice and technical support to the operative sections
  • Responsible for budget reviews, financial reporting, and year-end closing of the projects
  • Implement and follow up project and framework audits
  • Coordinate and consolidate the department's forecast and budget reporting and produce required analysis and reports as assigned by the Head of Finance
  • Implement robust internal control measures to uphold compliance with the donor and other stakeholder requirements
  • Contribute to the development of financial policies, strategies, tools, and new approaches, with a focus on innovation and piloting
  • Ensure that best practices are identified, documented, and disseminated within the department
  • Provide capacity development and technical support and guidance related to NORCAP's financial systems, procedures, and tools for the Department
  • Provide regular Finance analysis and reports
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience from working as a financial advisor/financial controller/finance manager or similar positions
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in relevant field (accounting and finance)
  • Documented results related to the position's responsibilities
  • Experience with ensuring accounting policies are compliant with organization policies and local regulations
  • Experience from humanitarian sector is a plus
  • Knowledge about Norwegian regulations is a plus
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Solid knowledge of computer software and modern accounting systems (Unit 4 or other ERP systems)
  • Fluency in English, Norwegian is a plus
