Byggmakker Norge AS, one of Norway's leading construction companies, is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow in prehistoric archaeology to join their team at the University of Oslo. The successful candidate will be based at the Museum of Cultural History and will contribute to the SCAPES research project.

About the Project

The SCAPES research group aims to investigate the fundamental orientation towards agriculture, sedentism, and social stratification on the Scandinavian Peninsula during the period 2500-1000 BCE. The project uses a work package design, with four main work packages focusing on environmental proxy data, sedentism and ritualization, mobility and facilitating technologies, and biometrics' contribution to heritage studies.

Job Description
  • Collaborate with PIs to complete deliverables D6-D10
  • Manage project data and conduct spatial analysis using GIS software
  • Develop an independent project within the context of the SCAPES research group
Qualifications
  • PhD in archaeology or a related field
  • Experience working with large datasets and databases
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis
