Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Optimization Expert to join our Origination department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for optimizing the value of our US portfolio in the long-, mid-, and short-term markets via OTC and screen trading.

Your primary objective will be to develop both quantitative and fundamental views of relevant environmental markets, including risks related to managing an intermittent renewable portfolio. You will work closely with our expert team to analyze market trends, develop strategies to optimize portfolio returns, and provide daily pricing advice and forecasting support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • \
  • Developing both quantitative and fundamental views of relevant environmental markets.\
  • Optimizing the value of our US portfolio in the long-, mid-, and short-term markets via OTC and screen trading.\
  • Identifying cross-commodity opportunities and risks, and reporting a comprehensive view of the US portfolio.\
  • Improving modelling tools and optimization approaches, shaping state-of-the-art portfolio management infrastructure and procedures.\
  • Collaborating with credit, operations, and trading teams to advance transactions.\
  • Developing strong relationships with proprietary trading teams and creating an atmosphere of collaboration and information sharing.\
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging customer challenges, and changes in the marketplace.\

Requirements

  • \
  • 5+ years' experience within the renewable energy sector.\
  • Strong fundamental analysis, risk management, and market pricing experience.\
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with experience pricing structured, non-standard contracts in power markets.\
  • High degree of analytical thinking and problem-solving, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues of quantitative, qualitative, and structural variety.\
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.\
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.\
  • Personal integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.\
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.\
