About the Job:
- As a Body Repair Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out a variety of repairs of basic to medium complexity in a timely and accurate manner.
- You'll support your teammates as necessary to ensure the smooth running of the workshop, contributing to a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement a thorough understanding of vehicle construction, tooling, equipment, and repair processes.
- Carry out tasks in compliance with EHS policies, adhering to manufacturer and industry guidelines.
- Perform removal, installation, and replacement of bolt-on panels, bumpers, lamps, and conduct quality control checks for alignment.
- Undertake cosmetic repairs on all Tesla models in accordance with the Tesla specific repair procedures.
- Execute quality control aspects of the body repair process, ensuring wet checks of all filler repairs are complete prior to senior technician sign-off.
- Collaborate with other Bodyshop departments as needed.
- Conduct thorough assessments of vehicles for pre-existing damage before work commences.
- Evaluate daily targets set by the production manager to guarantee the vehicle meets its completion date.
- Maintain safe operation of equipment, including jigs, fixtures, and welding equipment.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
- Vocational certificate in body repairs/collision technician.
- Proven experience as a Body Repair Technician in a body shop environment. Prior body repair experience on Tesla vehicles beneficial.
- Skills working with adhesive bonding and mechanical fasteners. Industry recognized accreditation valued.
- Basic computer skills, including web browsing and standard applications like Microsoft Word.
- Attention to detail when following oral and written instructions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines.
- Comprehensive understanding of health & safety and good housekeeping principles.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in body repair processes.
- A valid driving license.
