Your Challenges

Job Purpose:

The Senior Data Centre Portfolio Manager is accountable for leading, managing, and developing all aspects of a data centre portfolio of accounts. This includes service delivery, QHSE, statutory compliance, people and talent management, operations management, and the continual development of the customer base.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Deliver exceptional client outcomes on accounts.
  2. Full responsibility for Profit & Loss, including the development of contract financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduction of WIP, debt, cost reduction, and contract growth, ensuring these are met and exceeded.
  3. Provide leadership and ensure the planned development of a defined portfolio of contracts to guarantee contractual commitments are met and exceeded.
  4. Ensure opportunities for the strategic development of the portfolio are exploited to deliver increased turnover and profitability, add additional services and projects, and re-win contracts on re-tender.
  5. Implement business policies and processes effectively within the contract.
  6. Ensure healthy and safe working conditions and that both clients' and Company health and safety policy and process are effectively implemented across both our services and subcontractors' activities; regularly reviewed.
  7. Maintain a customer focus within all areas of operational activities and effective relationships with key client contacts, promoting and maintaining the CBRE RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence).
  8. Provide a learning environment and appropriate training and development planning.
  9. Ensure basic training needs are delivered, employees are fully competent to undertake their roles, and can reach their full future potential.
  10. Optimise staffing structures across contracts, balancing cost reduction with service excellence delivery.
  11. Ensure structures support peaks and troughs in workload, disaster recovery, and the sharing of expertise across the portfolio.
  12. Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, taking direct responsibility for the appointment of contract managers, ensuring postholders are fully competent, and effective succession planning arrangements are in place.
  13. Support the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings, hosting visits, and support to mobilisation as required on new contracts.
  14. Collaborate with other Operational managers to ensure the collaborative development of the business, effective teamworking, and support to colleagues.
  15. Ensure appropriate contract review, audit, and control systems to guarantee statutory, policy, and contractual commitments are met.
  16. Provide leadership, guidance, advice, coaching, and direct support, where required, to deliver best practice selection, training, assessment, employee engagement, recognition, and reward.
  17. Support effective business communication through advice, review, leadership, and direct contribution to management and team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, monthly and ad-hoc reporting, and other publications, as necessary.
  18. Stand in for the Business Unit Leader in case of leave.
Your Profile
  1. A relevant technical background with extensive experience within the data centre market, specifically in managed services.
  2. At least 5 years of cross-functional management experience in DC operations or service delivery for large data centres (2,000 m2).
  3. Proficient knowledge of all technical DC segments covering both mechanical and electrical (M&E) maintenance as well as ICT operations.
  4. Good understanding of 'state-of-the-art' data centre technologies and their implementation to ensure operational excellence.
  5. Proven experience in business development and customer relationship management with the capability to communicate professionally with different client stakeholders at TOP levels.
  6. Ability to gain trust and support of top-level management and key client decision makers.
  7. Good commercial acumen with excellent financial and negotiation skills.
  8. Ability to build up and lead management teams while ensuring best people management practices are applied to ensure continuous improvement of our managed services.
  9. Excellent motivating and influencing skills of subordinate levels, along with a high level of personal integrity.
  10. Good understanding of employer and labour law.
  11. Self-confident and assertive attitude with pronounced organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and deliver accordingly.
  12. Ability to balance strategic targets and client satisfaction.
  13. Excellent understanding of health & safety legislations necessary to always ensure our employee's well-being.
  14. Ability to manage conflict and crisis situations effectively for all stakeholders' satisfaction.
