Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Power Market Modelling team in India. As Head/Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining power market models for India, including short to medium-term fundamental models and statistical models for forecasting electricity prices. You will also work closely with our global offices, particularly Corporate Strategic Analysis in Oslo, to ensure the development of business ideas, products, and services to achieve sound commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain power market models for India, including fundamental and statistical models.
  • Provide support to management with deliveries of fundamental price forecasting and energy analytics needs for India.
  • Track and analyze relevant regulatory frameworks and incorporate them into the analysis space.
  • Provide deep understanding of the full energy market value chain to support business ideas and bespoke solutions.
  • Own the modelling process, improvements, and provide high-quality reports, documents, and presentations to stakeholders and management.
Requirements
  • 8-15 years of relevant experience and analytical background.
  • Academic background with a University degree, preferably at master level, in mathematics, economics, finance, or engineering.
  • Demonstrated and strong quantitative modelling skills, with extensive application in power/energy markets or energy analytics.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of India power markets and regulatory space; SDDP/PLEXOS/PROMOD or other models/tools will be a strong plus.
