Aibel AS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Marine Design Engineer to join our Concepts & Studies department in Oslo. As a Senior Marine Design Engineer, you will play a key role in executing the marine design of floaters in our teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for marine design and analysis of competitive floating structure concepts from concept selection to concept development phases.
- Lead the discipline work in multiple design processes.
- Provide design input to concept developments and maintain Aibel's marine design philosophies.
- Develop and maintain an overview of regulations and requirements from clients.
- Interface and work with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, suppliers, and certifying authorities.
- Support and assist Business Development on marine design engineering, method, and execution input.
Requirements:
- Higher technical education (BSc / MSc / PhD).
- Preferably, experience within one or more of Aibel's business segments: offshore wind, oil and gas, aquaculture, hydrogen, CCUS.
- 5-10 years+ experience.
- Experience with conceptual development and design documentation and reporting.
- Overview of Rules and Regulations within the applicable markets, including international norms and regulations.
- Commercial understanding and how technical development aligns with cost impact.
- Experience with contracts and subcontracting.
- Hands-on experience with design and analysis of floating structures, time & frequency domains, and stochastic analysis.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of offshore environmental load models.
- Practical programming and scripting knowledge and experience with Python, Java, Excel VBA.
- Proficiency in SESAM Package, ABAQUS, and Orcaflex or SIMA.
- Experienced, proactive, and informative.
- Ability to work independently and take lead in studies.
- Good English skills, both oral and in writing.
- High level of personal efficiency and ability to produce deliverables in the form of decisions, recommendations, and necessary documentation.
