Job Overview

The role of the Solution Architect – GridOS at GE Vernova Norway is to ensure optimal technical design for customer requirements, project budget, and timescale. This position involves driving, validating, and auditing solution designs across various project phases.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Interact with customers to define and produce optimal design based on their needs and solution capabilities in coordination with the Services function (Delivery Manager and Project Manager).
  2. Facilitate requirements, design, and solutions workshops that capture functional and non-functional requirements from the client, and own the design deliverables (Statement of Work, Architecture documents), ensuring traceability of requirements with proposed solutions.
  3. Communicate and enforce Design to Customer and Key Project Stakeholders.
  4. Manage involvement of other SMEs (e.g., business analysts, IT / Cybersecurity experts) and ensure their design contributions meet system architecture functional and non-functional requirements.
  5. Drive excellence in execution through continuous improvement in their segment or domain (best practices and reference material - reference architectures, reference solutions).
  6. Collaborate with Product Managers & Engineering (Return on Experience, product enhancements, reference architectures).
  7. Build technical expertise in the field of their segment or domain. Deliver technical consultancy services on demand.
  8. Coordinate knowledge capitalization and dissemination across the Services & Solution Design teams.
  9. Be accountable for activities planning, progress reporting, and completing activities in his scope as per approved budget.
Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar program, with a focus on Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
  2. Experience with Linux, Source code Management, Virtualization, Cloud Architecture (AWS and/or Azure), Micro-services architectures.
  3. Experience of cloud and cloud native technologies such as containers and Kubernetes.
  4. Exposure to iterative product development and program management techniques including Agile, Safe, Scrum, DevOps.
  5. Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments.
  6. Professional English level.
