HSEQ Specialist Job Description

Key Responsibilities

The HSEQ Specialist will be responsible for providing general support and advice to HSE and Quality functions in the Project. This includes providing input and update to the HSEQ Governing Documents, such as HSE Program, HSEQ Activity Plan, Quality Plan, Assurance & Control Plan, etc.

Additional Responsibilities

The HSEQ Specialist will also support the main Contractor(s) in achieving their HSEQ goals and objectives. This includes HSEQ follow-up of the main Contractor(s) and their subcontractors, site visits will be required (some travelling is expected). The HSEQ Specialist will also support the incident reporting process, participate in, or lead investigations, and follow-up actions as needed.

Quality Control and Quality Surveillance

The HSEQ Specialist will provide input into the Criticality Assessments for each Work Package and maintain as needed. They will also maintain the Quality Surveillance Program, ensuring that inspections and tests are performed and witnessed as per agreed Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). The HSEQ Specialist will administer the Notification of Inspections (NOIs) received from the Contractors and coordinate WDNO representation at planned inspection and tests with the Work Package Leads and/or the Inspection Agency following receipt of the NOI.

Risk Management

The HSEQ Specialist will provide risk management support to the Project Team ensuring threats and opportunities are systematically managed, and mitigation strategies are implemented. They will facilitate risk reviews with each Discipline and maintain the Risk Register in cooperation with Risk Owners and Action Owners. The HSEQ Specialist will provide risk management input to the Monthly Report and statistical data as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

The HSEQ Specialist must have a minimum of 5 years' experience mainly within HSEQ. Project experience in Execution phases is preferable. Good knowledge and understanding of Norwegian rules and regulations and experience in working with contractors/vendors are also required. The HSEQ Specialist must be fluent in English (oral and written) and preferably Norwegian. They must also be committed to company HSE policy and principles, act responsibly and in accordance with company HSE and quality requirements, and act in accordance with company ethical guidelines and code of conduct.
