We provide our clients with expert advice on Joint Targeting Systems (JTS), ensuring they have the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in complex military operations.
The NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) is a key player in preparing NATO forces for future challenges through training and exercises. As an Exercise Control Officer - Targeting, you will play a critical role in supporting the JWC's efforts to improve interoperability among NATO member nations. Your responsibilities will include planning and scripting phases, where you will be responsible for target list management, target development, and combat assessment. During execution, you will manage the JTS DB, coordinate targeting prosecution/effects, and monitor the combat assessment process.
To deliver each full exercise cycle, the JWC relies heavily on an Exercise Control structure. This team is composed of members from various backgrounds, including JWC staff, NATO component commands, Training Audience Headquarters, Partner Nations, and contractors. As an Exercise Control Officer - Targeting, you will work closely with this team to establish the conditions needed by the Training Audience to achieve the exercise aim and objectives. The size and structure of the Exercise Control team are flexible and adaptable to the requirements of each phase of exercise delivery.
The Targeting Support Area generates all targeting products, specifically in CAX, to ensure all targeting activity is arranged and in line with the Joint Plans and Schemes of Manoeuvre by both OPFOR and BLUFOR. All targeting activity is coordinated with RC/LOCON and TA targeting process. You will be responsible for quickly reading, digesting, analysing, and understanding the targeting campaign as depicted in the scenario documentation provided by JWC. You will also understand and analyse developing Training Audience plans, decisions, and documentation and their further impacts on the targeting campaign.
**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- National and/or NATO trained targeteer with 3 years of operational targeting experience
- Good working knowledge of JTS, user functions to include data migration between JTS and INTEL-FS and JTLS
- Good working knowledge of JTS DB Manager functions including data import/export, user account configuration, use of mapping applications
- Proficiency in Target Material Production and integration of targeting products into JTS
- Good working knowledge of FAST basic user functions to include user account configuration and linking FAST with JTS
- Working knowledge of INTEL-FS (basic user) and associated exercise data
