About the Position
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing interactive mapping tools and geospatial software for UAV operations and swarm coordination.
  • They will leverage libraries such as GDAL to process, manage, and visualize geospatial data efficiently.
  • This role requires building software that prepares geospatial data from different sources into a unified interface for drone operations.
  • The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mapping solutions into mission-critical UAV software.
  • Ongoing technical development is required to optimize geospatial algorithms for pathfinding, coverage analysis, and obstacle avoidance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geomatics, GIS, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in software development with a focus on GIS and geospatial applications.
  • Proficiency in C++, with experience working on geospatial data and mapping tools.
  • Knowledge of geospatial libraries (e.g., GDAL) and formats such as GeoJSON, Shapefiles, or GeoTIFF.
  • Familiarity with Python for auxiliary geospatial tasks is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of a Scandinavian language is advantageous.
  • Residence and work permit in Norway (or willingness to relocate).
