Job Summary:

Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a highly experienced International Organizations/Non-Governmental Organizations (IO/NGO) Coordinator to support NATO's Joint Warfare Center's (JWC) high-priority exercises. The JWC's mission is to deliver high-value exercises to NATO Command Structure and Force Structure entities and organizations in accordance with direction and guidance received from Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and SACEUR's Annual Guidance for Exercise (SAGE) and the Military Training Evaluation Plan (MTEP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on IO/NGOs to ensure they are realistically integrated into the exercise.
  • Coordinate and support IO/NGO participation during the exercise to ensure appropriate interaction with the training audience.
  • Develop a basic Concept of Operations for humanitarian, civil society, and human rights issues in the conflict, reflecting tasking for other non-military representatives.
  • Act as the focal point for the training audience on all matters relating to international humanitarian response, human rights issues, and civil society issues.
  • Coordinate humanitarian, human rights, and civil society matters with all relevant representatives and provide realistic documentation.
  • Understand and provide recommendations for improvement in the representation of humanitarian, human rights, and civil society issues to refine or improve the scenario.
  • Interact within the exercise as representatives for fictitious IO/NGOs and provide all relevant documentation.
  • Understand and analyze developing training audience plans and documentation and their impacts on IO/NGOs.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated and significant experience (i.e., in excess of 5 years in the past 20) of working at the senior levels of an international humanitarian organization.
  • Demonstrate 3 years' experience in the last 10 working at a senior managerial level within an IO/NGO.
  • Demonstrate interaction with or working alongside NATO at operational level for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Must possess a NATO Secret Security Clearance or National equivalent.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in English as defined in STANAG 6001 (Standardized Linguistic Profile (SLP) 3333 – Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) or equivalent.

Clearance and Location: Must possess an active NATO or U.S. SECRET or higher security clearance. The position is located at the NATO Joint Warfare Center in Stavanger, Norway.
