About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled 2nd Engineer to join our team as part of the Seismic Fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance and machinery operations on board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair all machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support where needed.
Administration
  • Keep accurate logbooks detailing maintenance activities and any issues encountered during their watch.
  • Prepare comprehensive handover reports to ensure seamless transition between shifts.
Operations
  • Be accountable for all machinery during their watch, rectifying any faults promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to address any concerns related to safety or functionality.
Maintenance
  • Work closely with the Chief Engineer to perform routine maintenance on main and auxiliary engines, separators, boilers, and steering machinery.
  • Conduct regular tests on boiler and cooling water systems, maintaining detailed records.
  • Perform weekly checks on lifeboats, workboats, FRC engine, and emergency diesel.
Spare Parts
  • Accurately record usage of spare parts during their watch.
  • Oversee the storage and organization of small machinery items.
Training

The successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of the Job Description for Chief Engineer.
