Environmental Conservation Fundraiser

Project Context

The Interfaith Rainforest Initiative is a global partnership between major interfaith organizations, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and donors. Our mission is to end tropical deforestation and protect the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

We operate in five critical rainforest countries: Brazil, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Indonesia, and Peru. These countries hold over 76% of Earth's remaining intact rainforests.

In each country, we convene Advisory Councils comprising religious organizations, Indigenous Peoples, UN agencies, NGOs, climate scientists, and civil society groups. Our goal is to forge impactful partnerships that address the world's combined climate and biodiversity crises.

Consultant Requirements

To succeed in this role, the consultant will need:

• A strong background in fundraising and philanthropy
• An excellent understanding of the faith-based sector and its potential impact on environmental conservation
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate substantial initiative

Duration and Location

The consultancy will be based on a 50% position, with a total duration of 7 months. The consultant will work remotely or from our office in Norway.
