Research Scientist

Cloud and AI Solutions Developer

At Telenor, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation in the telecommunications industry. As a Research Scientist, you'll be part of our cutting-edge team developing and shaping Cloud and AI solutions for the next generation of mobile networks.

Our goal is to make Telenor a data-driven AI company, and we're looking for experts who can help us achieve this vision. You'll work with our top researchers on projects that combine research with business problems, using state-of-the-art models like deep learning and reinforcement learning.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research within our R&I value creation programs, including AI for responsible business impact, Intelligent networks and advanced solutions, Cloud transformation program, and Bluesky research program.
  
• Take part in ongoing research activities and lead research within important topics.
  
• Publish research papers and attend conferences to share and learn from others in the field.
  
• Identify and pursue research within topics of high importance for Telenor R&I and our strategic agenda.
  
• Contribute to strategic and operative recommendations and implications of research results, presenting to relevant stakeholders.
  
• Monitor emerging technology and societal trends that influence Telenor's business, our industry, and society at large.
  

Requirements

• 
  
• A Ph.D. or similar research experience in Computer Science or equivalent, preferably with specialization in Machine Learning and 3–7 years relevant experience after the Ph.D.
  
• Experience with open-source Machine Learning/Deep Learning frameworks (tensorflow, Keras etc) is a plus.
  
• Comfortable with the math's of Machine Learning – you will need to tweak your own machine learning algorithms.
  
• Ability to code in languages such as Python/Java/C++.
  
• Positive attitude, self-driven, and open-minded.
  
• Passion to influence through research.
  
• Ability to present complex topics to top management and willingness to invest time to become a better speaker and communicator.
  
• Interest in the Telecom industry.
  
• Broad understanding of computer systems and computer networks, e.g. at the intersection between IT and telecommunication networking.
