Job Description
The Senior Technical Safety Engineer will provide technical expertise to ensure the safe operation of oil and gas facilities. This includes conducting hazard assessments, developing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Discipline Input to Design Basis: Collaborate with designers to develop design bases that meet regulatory requirements.
- Reviews (HAZID, HAZOP etc): Participate in reviews to identify and mitigate hazards.
- ALARP Assessments: Conduct ALARP assessments to determine the most cost-effective way to reduce risks.
- Dropped Objects Assessments: Conduct regular dropped objects assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
- Design of Active Firefighting systems including Hydraulic Calculations: Design and implement active firefighting systems that meet regulatory requirements.
- Functional Safety: Ensure functional safety is integrated into all aspects of the project lifecycle.
- Area Classification: Conduct area classification assessments to ensure safe working conditions.
- Noise and Vibration Assessments: Conduct noise and vibration assessments to minimize disturbance to the community.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience within Technical Safety: Significant experience in technical safety.
- Basic knowledge about working environment requirements: Understanding of working environment requirements.
- Experience from Oil & Gas projects: Proven experience working on oil and gas projects.
- Knowledge of Norsok standards: Familiarity with Norsok standards.
- Excellent cooperation and teamworking skills: Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proactive mindset and excellent communication skills: Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Strong ability to inform and persuade on complex matters through preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, and reports: Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
- Software (preferred) - IFS, Pipenet Spray/Sprinkler: Proficiency in IFS and Pipenet Spray/Sprinkler software.
