What we are looking for:

NRC Norway is seeking a dynamic Digital Fundraising Specialist to help grow our unearmarked funding by engaging private individuals across global digital channels. In this role, you will design, test, and optimize innovative fundraising strategies that accelerate ROI, strengthen income resilience, and enhance performance of existing digital fundraising efforts.

You will join NRC's global Private Fundraising team - responsible for inspiring private individuals and organisations to support our mission and fuel unearmarked funding. The team includes Fundraising (individual donor growth), Donor Management (regular donor retention), and Corporate Partnerships (grants and pro bono support), all backed by a Governance unit that ensures compliance and operational excellence.

NRC's individual donors - spread across multiple global markets - provide the flexible funding that allows us to respond where institutional donors cannot. The Individual Fundraising unit drives this engine, expanding our donor base and opening new markets to secure fast, high-impact, and sustainable income streams.

What you will do:

Some of your generic responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of NRC's global private individual fundraising strategy in coordination with other internal stakeholders.

  • Understand the full Return on Investment (ROI) process of fundraising investments, advise on available and new investments to increase diversity, and create income resilience with higher and/or faster ROI.

  • Research, interpret and analyse data to make informed decisions on strategies and activities and provide recommendations on the portfolio of markets and channels.

  • Maintaining and ensure full understanding of all relevant jurisdictions, privacy laws, currency exchange, and other related issues

  • Responsible for the development of the annual plans, budgets, and delivery of fundraising targets while managing forecasts and reports on income, costs, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 

  • Responsible for prioritised fundraising products and operating fundraising channels as set out in the strategy and annual plans/targets. 

  • Identify and report on fundraising content needs, ensuring that necessary market and/or channel adaptions are handled, including publication in relevant platforms/channels. 

  • Develop, maintain, and manage fundraising partnerships/suppliers and build networks in prioritised fundraising market(s) to identify trends, strengthen resilience and implement market-specific measures. 

  • Protect NRC from risk through due diligence, compliance, policies, and best practices in relationships management with partners and agencies used for fundraising globally. 

  • Strengthen cross- sectional collaboration and culture within the section, department and across NRC stakeholders, including providing training and advice within areas of expertise. 

  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures, and a specific responsibility for Private Fundraising policies and procedures.

Some of your specific responsibilities include:

  1. Develop digital recruitment journeys for donors in partnership with other key stakeholders

  2. Develop digital recruitment pages for donors in partnership with other key stakeholders

  3. Develop digital advertising models for recruitment of donors in partnership with others

  4. Based on a combination of all items above, identify and test various scenarios, assessing which performs best.

  5. Adapt content for digital advertisement, including video

  6. Campaign Suite superuser:

  • Role on implementing donation pages across markets

  • Improving donor experience, and increased results on donation forms

  • Role on inducing and collaborating with other stakeholders around donation forms

  1. RD measurements of success in:

  • Increase in recruitment volume

  • Increase in loyalty (in partnership with others)

  • Increase in profitability

  • Systematic Learning - Test of what works best

  • Leads measurement of success is in conversion, but this must be is in partnership with others.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a senior position within fundraising, preferably within the humanitarian sector.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, or other relevant areas.

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

  • Knowledge and expertise in Marketing Cloud, Campaign Suite, and Digital Advertisement.

  • Fluency in Norwegian, both written and verbal

What we offer:

  • Duty station: Oslo, Norway 

  • Contract: 1 year.   

  • Travel: 10%.

  • Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC's Resident salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
