Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position requiring work in the Stavanger Norway area. As a Datacenter Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining data center operations, efficiently managing cabling systems, conducting troubleshooting, and executing structured wiring tasks. The role requires collaboration with a team to ensure optimal functionality and reliability of data center infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and monitor datacenter infrastructure (servers, networking, storage, power, cooling).
  • Perform hardware installations, upgrades, patching, cabling, and decommissioning.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, network, and software issues to ensure uptime.
  • Support migrations, new service rollouts, and redundancy models.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain compliance with safety, security, and environmental standards.
  • Keep documentation up to date (rack layouts, cabling maps, configurations, inventories).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency.

Required:

  • Proven experience in data center operations and infrastructure management (2+ years preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities across hardware, networking, and operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE, Lenovo etc.).
  • Cabling and cable-management expertise.
  • Solid understanding of networking (LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls).
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred:

  • Experience with virtualization
  • Familiarity with DCIM/monitoring tools
  • Understanding of datacenter power, cooling, and cabling standards.
  • Certifications (CCNA, Server+, VCP, etc.).
  • Experience with hybrid cloud (Azure/AWS).
  • Experience using ticketing/workflow systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Slack).
