The Role
As a
Senior Lead, DB2 Software Engineering
at Kyndryl, you'll have the opportunity to shape the very foundation of the technology that drives our world. Your work will involve developing, testing, and maintaining the software that controls a computer's operating system, hardware, and other systems software. You'll be a master trouble-shooter and problem-solver, with the skills to fix even the most complex issues that arise.

Not only will you be responsible for ensuring the security of our computer systems, but you'll also work closely with other IT professionals to design and implement cutting-edge technology that keeps Kyndryl ahead of the curve.

In this role, you'll provide the underlying Mainframe operating system platform programming and DBDC subsystem programming support that forms the backbone of our applications. You'll guide functional objectives on technologies and make use of your expert knowledge to drive solutions to complex problems.

As a leader in this field, you'll also be expected to conduct RCA discussions for the products you work on and provide ongoing technical and operational guidance to lead professional work teams. You may even manage departments on a national or international level, defining objectives and managing resources to ensure the success of your projects.

There's never a typical day as a Senior Lead, DB2 Software Engineering at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You'll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

You'll also get the chance to share your expertise by recommending modernization options, identifying new business opportunities, and cultivating relationships with other teams and stakeholders. Key responsibilities:

• Perform installation, upgrade, configuration, and tuning of DB2 and DB2 Tools on mainframe platform.
• Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal performance in DB2.
• Security Management: Implementing and enforcing security measures to safeguard DB2 as a system.
• Problem Resolution: Incident resolution, troubleshooting, resolving errors, and providing technical support.
• Perform upgrades outside customer production hours, which might includes work in the afternoon and weekends.
• Communication with technical personnel and the customers.

with 5 years or more of relevant experience.

Required Skills And Experience
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of DB2 database systems, mainframe architecture, and related technologies

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues

Communication Skills: Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, mainly in English

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and identify trends to optimize performance

Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensuring data accuracy and integrity

Adaptability: Ability to stay updated with evolving technologies and industry best practices

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at the same time.
